Know Your Violin Maker.

Since 2018, Ben Mason has provided handmade instruments, repairs and bow rehairs to musicians across Kentucky. After graduating with a B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 2013, he enrolled at the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2015.

Returning to Lexington in 2018, he set out to put his training to use offering handmade violins, violas and cellos. As a result, he’s developed many working relationships with musicians of all levels across the state who trust his musician-centered approach.

A member of the Violin Society of America, Ben continues to engage with colleagues and find opportunities for continued learning in order to provide the best possible service for clients.

Ben lives in Berea, Kentucky with his wife Lindsey, their three cats and Bernese Mountain dog, Bear. Outside of the shop, he enjoys running, making homemade pizza and watching University of Kentucky football games.
